What To Pack

Detox is an imperative step on the road to recovery, without the help of a medically assisted detox in California, one will face a variety of challenges. Physical and mental withdrawals are very difficult to overcome, thankfully you can receive help within our program. We’re so happy you have decided to take action and better your life by entering a drug detox center. Detox is a time in which the body repairs itself and overcomes withdrawals. With the help of proper medication, nutrition, and sleep, those struggling with substance abuse issues will experience minimal discomfort. At Divine Detox, we pride ourselves on offering the highest level of care available at a detox in Southern California. This allows our clients to be comfortable throughout their stay at our detox, which will greatly help improve their chances of achieving long-term recovery.

Packing for Detox

Most people will be in our detox center anywhere from five days to a few weeks, so you want to make sure you have at least a few different outfits to choose from. Detoxing can come with some undesirable physical symptoms, so bring comfortable clothing.

  • T-shirts and long-sleeve shirts
  • Sweatpants or yoga pants
  • Gym shorts
  • Jeans
  • Comfortable sneakers

Please do not bring shirts that have pictures of alcohol or drugs on them, as this can trigger patients. We offer laundry services at our detox, so you don’t have to over-pack.

If needed, you should bring money with you to purchase nicotine products or prescription co-pays. We will keep your money in your file or personal locker while in our program so that you do not have to concern yourself with purchasing items or medication, we take care of everything for you. If you typically do not carry cash, you can bring your credit or debit card with you and we will add it to your file. If you forget, a loved one can always place some type of payment on file for you.

You’ll need your insurance card and government-issued ID, this just makes the intake process a bit easier. Please also bring any medicines your doctor prescribed to you that you take on a regular basis. We don’t want you to go without these important medications for any period of time. Of course, leave any hazardous items, narcotic drugs of any kind, and alcohol at home. If these items are brought in they will be confiscated and disposed of.

Other items that may be helpful during your stay:

  • Family photos or sentimental items
  • Notebooks or journals
  • Books or magazines
  • Sketchbooks, colouring books, or activity books like crossword puzzles
