Opiate Detox Southern California Rehab Divine Detox

The United States has some of the highest opiate addiction rates in the world. The number of fatal overdoses throughout the country rose substantially from 2010-2013 and since then over 250,000 people have lost their lives due to an opiate-related overdose. Just in 2017, 2,199 California’s lost their lives to an opiate overdose, nearly 50,000 people nationwide. This is more than car accidents and gun-related deaths. It is obvious that we are facing a serious issue and that something must be done now to address this problem. Thankfully, there are opiate detox centers in California that can help those struggling safely and comfortably overcome withdrawal symptoms. These withdrawals are what often keep users stuck in the deadly addiction cycle.

Divine Detox offers medically assisted detox from opiates. Allowing those struggling to overcome the physical side of their addiction without going through intense physical pain. Some people who struggle with addiction will attempt to detox themselves at home, this is rarely successful. Most people will not make it more than 48 hours into an at-home opiate detox before turning back to their substance of choice for relief. This is not due to a lack of willpower or anything of the sort. Opiates are extremely addictive, both physically and mentally. No one should ever have to try and detox themselves from opiates, Divine Detox is here to help. Our staff of medical professionals is here to ensure your comfort and safety through this trying time.

What Are Opiates?

Opium is the dried latex obtained from the opium poppy from which almost all opiates are created. Over the past twenty years, the most commonly used opiates are heroin, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, and morphine. Over the past ten years, two synthetic opiates have become more prevalent, fentanyl and carfentanil. These drugs are extremely potent and can be up to 10,000x stronger than pure heroin. Many of the fatal overdose deaths in the United States can be directly linked to carfentanil and/or fentanyl.

It’s not just heroin and synthetic opiates that are causing serious addiction issues throughout California, prescription painkillers are a major problem. Prescription painkillers like Vicodin and Percocet have remained a problem in the state for over a decade and abuse trends are still very concerning to law enforcement and medical professionals. Some people will begin taking these medications for legitimate reasons, but before they know it they have developed a tolerance and are physically dependent on them. It isn’t uncommon for people to seek help from an opiate detox for this exact reason. Divine Detox isn’t just for those who are hooked on drugs because they were using them recreationally. Our program is for anyone who wants to get their lives back to normal and who will experience withdrawals if they attempt to stop using without proper help.

Opiate Withdrawal Symptoms

When someone uses opiates on a daily basis, even if they were prescribed by a doctor, they will find themselves physically dependent. Opiate withdrawal is extremely challenging and wildly uncomfortable to overcome without proper assistance. Cold turkey detox (without medication) is never a good idea and will cause the struggling individual to experience a variety of painful symptoms. Opiate detox can be described as the worst flu someone could ever have, where the only medication that helps relieve the symptoms is more opiates. This is the deadly cycle of addiction that holds many users in what feels like a hostage situation.

Once physically addicted it is very difficult for the user to make it even a day without using. The opiates will begin to rule that person’s life and can easily become a primary thought in their mind. If they go without it and withdrawals begin, they can place everything else in their lives on hold until they get and use more. Withdrawals start mild and will become more severe as time passes.

The first stages of opiate withdrawal are increased anxiety, racing thoughts, drug cravings, mild sweats, and sneezing. As time passes and they do not use, these symptoms will become more and more prevalent and intense. One will become increasingly restless, they will be unable to sleep, their eyes will be watering, and they will have crawling skin. They will profusely sweat even though they are covered in goosebumps. Frequent sneezing, uncontrollable bowel movements, dehydration, vomiting, and watering eyes are all part of opiate withdrawal.

Getting Help for Opiate Abuse

The user may be held back by a few things; pride and shame are among the most frequent. Entering a detox center implies that one must admit that they are helpless against the power of the drug. They’re likely to have to acknowledge what’s going on in their lives to at least one other individual, their pride will cause them to delay in fear of feeling the shame. This only causes the struggling individual to dig their hole deeper and deeper.

Going into an opiate detox center means that one will have to place their lives on hold for at least five days. Some of those struggling are going to create excuses as to why they can’t enter an opiate detox in California. They can’t miss that many days of work, they have a family to look after or bills to pay. This, once again, only makes it more difficult for that person to get help. The time to stop using is now. The time to enter a detox in now. Delaying it will only make things worse. Divine detox can help you start your journey on the road to recovery.
